Donald Trump won even though he may have lost?

Just a day or two before the elections,  I was watching Real Clear Politics and its polling,  with Biden at approx 50 % and Trump at 44 %.  Now, it appeared to be a steep curve for the 44 %, upwards. But, with the election so close,  it was too late to see,  if we had a few more days, to see the curve when it would have ended.

Mr. Trumps aggressive last debate, his criss crossing of the states he figured he needed to win, endless show of energy,  really was something to watch. Biden, his supporters, urging him to continue. Joe, you got to go! Keep on trucking, said many of his people. Obama campaigned with him at the end of the line also. Trumps energy was incredible. His message was strong and steady.

Oil, fossil fuels, Biden will phase them out, and sign the Paris Accord. What would that mean for the USA. No coal fired plants after 2035. Maybe. We will see how that one goes. Trump carried the message, which Biden spilled out on the debate floor, not too long ago.  Also, the right to carry firearms. Fracking, whether you were for it or against it, you knew who was running for what.

Despite a major cable news network, a billion dollar news network, totally against Trump, the Coronavirus that hit him hard in the polls due to his inability to bring numbers down ( European total numbers are probably worse), and increases in Coronavirus throughout the world,  the Democrats still hit the message home hard,  and won on that single issue. It was the issue, that issue alone, that really brought the Trump campaign to its knees. The economy was doing good, if it were not for the virus, he probably would have went in very strong.

The Democrats, on the other hand, put at their head, a 77 year old man.  Fair enough, Trump is 74,  but Trump at the end of this election looked as if he had run a marathon race of stumping, all over the swing states, and come out looking not tired. Mr. Biden, we do hope, if he does become president, that he will have an 8 year term. You never know, so we will see what time will tell.  But, If I was a delegate for the Democratic party,  I would have elected between an age group of 70 to 35. They should do away with their system of delegate voting, in my opinion.

Trump did amazing in this election. He carried Florida, a state Biden was leading or even in most of the time before the election. Everybody said,  Texas would move to Biden. No. Even the polling said so. Even the polls said Biden was leading in double digits, some polling, 6 to 8 per cent lead. So how did Trump outperform the polls. The polls nationally put Trump in the basement for months on end.

In the end, it was the game of Trump and his organizers. He may lose today,  but in fact, he was a real winner. He had to go against the Coronavirus, A billion dollar News Industry and pundits that lambasted him ( Ok, Trump did start it, fair enough), and his own sharp criticisms on social media put allot of people against him. Then he got sick with the Coronavirus, which took him out of an essential 2nd debate----  A debate, that could have moved things forward, by a week or so, in his favor. He could not go to rallies ( ok, they are not safe, I agree), which were really effective vs watching Biden at a drive in scene. Even some republicans, I heard, in his own party put infomercials against him... How could they do that, knowing that today, the outcome is so very close??? And that he maintained the senate, and did well in the house for seats.

The world governments do not want to see another Trump in office. He took on NATO for to pay its fair share, he tore up the Paris Agreement on climate change ( You can argue if the US can afford it), and tackled China on trade and the treatment of its people. He did bring soldiers back from the middle east, as promised, and did not want to go to war with Iran ( even though he strained relations with his actions). You could say he was against globalism, but yet, should not a country be in charge of its own affairs?

No,  Trump may lose today,  but, he won in real terms, and even if he lost,  of how he made this thing the biggest turnaround in the history of elections ( yes, even if he loses, because, of what he was up against and what the polls were saying).  The big networks will miss the big guy, the humor shows, because, he created allot of news...  We will see the outcome later on...

Till next time.
